Blog Post

I scanned this image from a book from Parklands library, Graphic Design Annual 2009. I got lucky because this image had the typeface on it. The type is Helvetica and I liked the whole design of this poster. It was a smart idea to use the type as the knife blade selections on the swiss army knife.

Project 1: Type Poster-ITC Usherwood

ITC Usherwood was created by Leslie Usherwood. Leslie Usherwood was born in England in 1932 and attended the Beckenham School of Art in Kent. He worked for 15 years as a lettering artist in the commercial art field. ITC Usherwood is a roman design with the classical trait of ascenders that are taller than the capitals, but has a very large x-height. ITC Usherwood is useful for short text blocks and can be used in display work for posters and invitations.
